Billed in the early 20th century as the “Highest Class Talking Machine in the World”, this 1923 Sonora Louis XV console phonograph has been slightly modified to include storage of liquor and barware. The function of a discreet minibar takes a back seat to this exquisitely crafted period design talking machine.
Originally marketed to those with “handsome homes”, Sonora talking machines were found in their parlors and music rooms. This 1923 Louis XV model is in excellent condition with its original solid brass, gold-toned components (as well as a gold-plated motor) and produced the highest tone quality at the time of its manufacture. The Swiss-made cabinet, constructed of solid ¾ inch mahogany panels, with hand-carved embellishments, was built to last a lifetime. The record chamber sports a pressure switch light for nighttime illumination. The 10-piece gold barware set is included. Dimensions for this item: 38 1/2 in L; 21in W; 36in H. This is truly an exquisite piece.
